Last week The Restart Project hosted an event for parliamentarians to learn more about the economic and environmental benefits of repairing electronics and the current policy challenges the sector faces.

The drop in event included a live repair shop with parliamentarians and their staffers experiencing the joy of a repaired hairdryer whirring back into life.

P4P Chair, Baroness Hayman, who earlier this year proposed an amendment to the Digital Markets Competition and Consumers Bill to make it easier and cheaper to repair electronic goods, attended the event and signed up to endorse the Repair and Reuse Declaration, along with other cross-party parliamentarians.

“The UK’s contribution in responding to the climate crisis will be measured not just in the quantity of emissions we reduce, but in the quality of the vision, innovation and leadership we provide."
