Yesterday,

P4P Chair, Baroness Hayman, took part in an event exploring the vital role parliamentarians can play in addressing climate change working with expert groups at home and with other parliamentarians internationally.

Baroness Hayman underlined the importance of global parliamentary organisations, like the CPA, who create the much-needed opportunities to work together and share knowledge and expertise with our international counterparts. She said the UK contribution would be measured, not just in the quantity of its emissions reductions but also in the quality of its leadership - through leading by example and supporting innovation.

The event was hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association as part of their 52nd British Islands and Mediterranean Region Conference bringing together officials from Malta, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Falkland Islands, Jersey, Alderney, Isle of Man, Scotland and Wales.

“The UK’s contribution in responding to the climate crisis will be measured not just in the quantity of emissions we reduce, but in the quality of the vision, innovation and leadership we provide."
